Do you know a teen who is struggling to quit porn? The reality is that many kids get caught in a porn trap. They want to quit. They try to quit. Yet, they find themselves returning again and again. Imagine, what if there was a tool that could help fortify teens against pornography?
In this episode, I am joined by Clay Olsen, co-founder of Fight The New Drug (FTND), a youth movement dedicated to raising awareness on the harmful effects of pornography. Clay is also the founder of Fortify, a recovery tool designed to support anyone—youth and adults—seeking a future free from pornography.
Fortifying teens against pornography
Fresh out of college, Clay and his buddies came up with FTND. Their plan was simply to be a megaphone and spread awareness. But after every school presentation they did, a hundred students or more would be lined up seeking advice. Next came the emails. Tens of thousands pouring in. Some from kids as young as eight years old! The Fortify recovery tool was the response.
In this episode:
- Fortify is FREE for youth. Clay and his team realized there were too many barriers that prevented young people from getting the help they needed.
- No gimmicks. No quick fix. Fortify uses tracking tools and general health and wellness strategies combined with a supportive community to help participants achieve long-term healing.
- Parent involvement. Fortify allows for allies within the program. Youth could invite a parent, mentor, or counselor to view and participate in different aspects of their progress.
- Is your teen ready for Fortify? Make sure you are on the same page. The Brain Heart World docuseries is a great place to start the conversation.
- No room for shame. Recovery is real. Recovery is possible. But it is a process that takes time. Youth do best when they have unconditional support from their parents.

Then talk about it! Clay says the vast majority of kids are dealing with some kind of struggle with pornography. They are waiting for us to start the conversation.
