Where can I turn when I've got tough parenting questions?

Parents need a safe place to talk about important things too

My sister-in-law has this saying —parenting ain’t for the faint of heart. No kidding! Who knew we would have to talk with our kids about the dangers of pornography in the same breath as we teach them to look both ways when they cross the street?

Sure, it may sound enticing to cover our eyes and put our fingers in our ears while loudly singing la-la-la-la! —with a hope that somehow our kids will come out the other side unscathed. But in reality, we know the solution to helping young people safely navigate today’s hyper-sexualized culture is to tackle the tough the issues head on.

Pack your bags! Because we’re moving out of the parenting comfort zone.Yup, that’s right. Not only do our kids need us to master the “sex talk”; we have to ace the “porn talk” too! Make it flow as naturally as water off a duck’s back to boot (ya, right!).

It can seem terribly overwhelming when you don’t know where to begin. Even worse when it feels like you’re the only parent on the block with these concerns. Having a supportive community to turn to is key to making the task easier. Two heads are better than one, right?

Most of the articles you’ll find on our blog are written by parents just like you. Parents who are figuring out how to have the conversations in their homes that give young people the tools they need to make informed decisions about things like media choice, sex and intimacy, dating, future relationships and so much more.

Please join us in this conversation. We really do understand where you are coming from. We’re parents and we’ve been there too!
